MOSHKING.COM Presents its third Metal Show
Huntington Beach, CA

May 12, 2001

Raven Mad was pleased to be a part of Moshking.com's third metal show. Moshking.com has done so much in helping to promote Raven Mad (and all metal) shows in Southern California. The show was supposed to have featured Enraged, a killer thrash band from San Diego, and New Eden, a progressive power metal band that Raven Mad's Mel has been helping out in bass duties. However the owner had warned the Moshking, Denis, that he was concerned about noise. No one had any idea how strict the noise regulations were. Throughout Raven Mad's set, we were asked to turn down (and we complied) so to the point where people could barely hear the band. It's very difficult for a metal band to turn down to Perry Como levels, but we tried! We managed to finish the set, and over all it was a fun and successful show for us. Enraged, unfortunately, never got the opportunity to reach satisfactory volume levels: by their third song, the owner had pulled the plug and the show was over. New Eden never got the opportunity to play.

The night marked the debut of Raven Mad's new drummer, Dave Chedrick. Dave actually rushed in at the last minute and saved the day! A week before the show, it was quite obvious that the person we were working with was not going to have the material ready in time. Dave stepped in and not only learned the material in a week, but added so much musically that the audience couldn't help but remark how different we sounded!

The *new* Raven Mad, with a Moshking.com banner behind us.

Mel took the opportunity to pull out her 5-string bass, as Raven Mad busted out into the Megadeth classic, "Hangar 18". Raven Mad also debuted a new song, "Distortions of Reason".

We had a great audience. Here are some of the Mad revelers checking out the show! Thanks for the horns, Tstm!!

The fro is rather frightening, as is the man bearing it. Want to see more great pictures of the Fro? Check out the latest from Fro Watch 2001!

Raven Mad's young fretshredder at work. There were members of the audience that hadn't seen Raven Mad since before Dustin had joined the band. Needless to say, the band received many compliments about his guitar prowess.

Whole lot of headbangin' goin' on...

Look, ma, no faces!! Hair consumes any trace of face for Raven Mad's Fro Boy and bassbitch.
