Live at Club Mesa

September 16th saw our first gig at Club Mesa in Costa Mesa. Although the club doesn't traditionally book metal, Joe's cousin pulled some strings to get Raven Mad booked there. The club is in a not-so-savory part of town, but the stage is great, the sound is great, and the music in the jukebox was excellent -- that is, if the barflies would have let us listen to it. The Moshking, Denis Recendez, who was in attendance at the show, put in a full hour's worth of metal in the jukebox before Raven Mad took the stage. The natives couldn't handle the music and promptly gave Denis a refund so they could control the music! eeek!
The stage was roomy enough and the on-stage sound was excellent. Some of the listeners in he audience had a hard time hearing the bass, however.
Raven Mad got to debut their new song "Metalurgy" to the Club Mesa crowd.
The jacket Mel is wearing has been with her since high school. It's a a collection of various patches acquired through the years, including a huge Slayer "Haunting the Chapel" backpatch on the back. In her high school days, she used to wear this jacket to church to get a reaction.
