Recording Madness Reigns
Anaheim, CA

September 9, 2000

Because we undertook the recording project ourselves, we experiemented a lot with getting a good drum sound. One option we tried was to record in a warehouse. Due to scheduling and other factors, we eventually scrapped the warehouse idea for recording in our own rehearsal studio. The problem with that was that we had to find a good time when there were no other bands in the studio. These are pictures from our adventures recording in the warehouse!

Joe tries to look like he's having a good time. We surrounded his drum set with a huge cardboard box and stapled foam on the inside. Unfortunately, the staples poked outside the cardboard on the other side, and every time Joe back behind his drums, he'd be ripped and shredded. He was a good sport, however, and managed to lay down two of the seven songs that weekend.

Fro and Mel provided the scratch track for Joe to play along. Here they are, headphones on, guitars in hand, while Ana Greco, our fearless engineer/producer, takes a break from careful listening and pressing buttons.

Gone are Dustin's long lovely locks, his hair a victim of summer, the hearts of young girls broken at home and abroad. Here, the recently shorn Dustin listens in.

Ana works hard at getting a good drum sound.
