Halloween Night
October 31, 2000
All dressed up and nowhere to go -- that about sums up my Halloween
night for the year 2000. The crew had done merry making and celebrating
beforehand, first at Knott's Scarey
Farm, and then at a Mother Mercy/Violent Breed show, but there was
absolutely NOTHING planned for Halloween night. And so, when my friend
Nick invited me and Ana Greco out for a night of nightclubbin' to dance
music at Gecko's, we were compelled to attend.
Ana and I dressed in our finest. Here is Ana as a sparkly mermaid.
And I, with my face covered with ROOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT and tears of blood,
give the kiss of eternal love to my beau-n. I had worn the same outfit to work earlier that day. And of course,
it would be just my luck that that was the day we were supposed to
meet a consultant who was going to reorganize the department! You can
bet the entire meeting the consultant (hitherto known as The Big El)
was wondering how in the world he was going to organize me out of the
company! And how do you take any comments and concerns raised by a
corpse bride seriously? At Gecko's we met up with the swashbuckling Nick Laux. The blood on
my face is already starting to peel as I give a less-than-ghoulish
big grin in this picture. Because the club was playing dance/hip hop/disco,
we made it our point to get pretty damn hammered -- it was the only
way for a metalhead to survive in these elements! Bet you never thought you'd catch Mel shakin' her groove thang!
Here's a drunk Ana n Nick with my masked dance partner. You know,
to this day I still have no idea what this man looks like! The beauty
of masquerades!! |
