Hey! That's Knott Scary (Farm)
October 22, 2000
Halloween is positively my favorite holiday. I love the masquerade and
the macabre sense of humor that encompasses the holiday. One of the highlights
of the Halloween season is that all the local theme parks theme-out for
the holidays, a tradition started by Knott's Berry Farm. Normally, Knott's
doesn't rank up there with my favorite theme parks, but it is still one
of the best Halloween theme parks out there. And so, in true Metalhealth
posse fashion, we rounded up the troops to take a Halloween jaunt thru
the Haunt...
The night started out a bit more chaotic than planned. We were all
supposed to meet up at the Garden Grove Sound Arena and then journey
to the park in a caravan together. Jeff ended up getting lost, and
we hunted for people for a while. One of the highlights, however, was
a quick pose by the Po Folks restaurant. Why? I have no idea... Anyway,
here's them po' folks Mike Bear, Ana Greco, Dave Reiss, and Dave Watson
under the restaurants warm glowing lights.
Tony, Carol, and Christof participated in the Pre-Scare dinner, so
we met them inside the park. Here's the core group, with the no-longer-lost
Jeff on the far right. We got a lot of comments that night from park
attendees and ride attendants regarding the fact that we were a big
group of longhairs (sorry Tstm!!) and that people hadn't seen so many
metal looking people traveling together in a long time. A little later in the night, we met up with Joe Verastegui and his
party...
You're wondering what the hell is going on here, aren't you? As we
walked through the dark, foggy pathways of the park, we came across
a round, unattended stage. Someone (I think it was Joe??) had the bright
idea that we should all lay around it and take a picture, and so here
we are. No sooner had we gotten up than other parties started following
suit (copycats!!!). Park security quickly took care of them and we
fled undetected, hahahahah!!!
 Posing by a Haunted House.
As the night wore on, our tired group made our way to Ghostrider,
a HUGE wooden rollercoaster with a 2-hour wait! Check out pictures from That's
Knott Scarey (Farm) II 2001!
