Melz 3rd Annual Birthday Bash
July 2000
Birthdays come only once a year -- aren't you glad you're
not a birthday?
Regardless, I always think that people should take a
day and make it their own, and a birthday seems like a good enough
day for it. So, I figured I'd throw my own birthday party! I invited
everyone I knew and then some.
Doug so graciously opened the doors of his house for the party, and
I rented a HUGE inflatable jumpy thing -- you know, the things parents
rent for their kids' parties? Jumpy things: they're not just for children
anymore! I hadn't jumped in one in soooooo long, not since I grew above
the height requirement for most fairs and carnivals. This was a desire
I entertained for a long time, and I was not disappointed! I had such
a blast! I hadn't laughed that much since... well, since the last time
I was in a jumpy thing!
Wrestling matches were held in the jumpy thing; here, John Leighton
and Kenny Kim battle for the title of Jumpy Wrestling champion while
Ana Greco and Dave Watson look on. Those faceless legs are mine. John
came out the victor. Ana was champion in the women's division... of
course, the only other woman who took part in the wrestling was me,
and I'm a wimp, so I'm not sure how much of an honor that title actually
is.
How many people can you fit into a jumpy thing? Well, according to
the Jump Doctor representative who dropped the thing off, it should
comfortably jump 5 adults or 10 kidlets. Here, we put 11 adults in
the jumpy; not surprising, it started to deflate! Our buttocks were
almost on the floor, but not before we got a few pictures taken. Here
we are, left to right, top to bottom: Kenny, Dave, Drew (the only Kid
at the party, Chris's nephew), then Doug, John, Ana, Tony, Chris, The
Birthday Girl, and Danika.
Another shot of a full party jumpy: Dave, Denis, Kenny, John, and
Ana lauging in the background. I think that's Tony's hand.
What's a party without a BBQ? Here Chris, Joe, Doug, Dave, and Ana
hang out in the kitchen after a whole feast of eats. Ana made her famous
Fuck You burgers while Denis the PastaKing provided Ravioli Al Pesto.
I made my Famous Microwave Cupcakes which are no longer microwaved.
There was lots of food, and even moreso of dah brewski. In fact, there
was so much beer left over that Doug and Tara had another BBQ a few
weeks later just to get rid of it. Thank you to everyone who came out for my party! I hope you had as
much fun as I did, and your presence there made it special! Look for
Melz 4th Annual Birthday Bash in 2001!!
