  • Mel has announced that she will be leaving Raven Mad in August!! According to Mel:

    I hope you can all make it out to one of the upcoming shows. In August, I will be parting ways with Raven Mad after nearly four years of pure metal insanity. I have joined LA's progressive power metal titans New Eden and will continue to spread the metal faith across the LA area and hopefully the world! Please visit the New Eden website at http://www.newedenband.com for more information on my new project. I will also be playing in an all-female tribute to Iron Maiden called the Iron Maidens, http://www.theironmaidens.com , coming to a venue near you this Fall.

    My experience with Raven Mad has been completely positive - a dream come true, actually, and I have enjoyed working with the talent and friendship of Fro, Dustin, Joe, and Dave. Raven Mad is much more of a family than a band, and I don't anticipate that aspect to ever end. Even more so, I loved the opportunity to meet all of you -- to rock out, to share a beer, to hang out! Thank you for everything!

  • Raven Mad's Mel has been jaunting around the country recently playing bass for the California power/progressive metal band New Eden. You may have caught her at the Classic Metal Festival in Kalamazoo, MI or recently at the Bang Your Head Houston!! Festival in Houston, TX. She also recorded two cover songs with New Eden for upcoming World War III tribute CD's: "Wheels of Confusion" from Black Sabbath and AC/DC's "You Ain't Got Ahold On Me".

  • We're now booked for a show on Thursday June 21 at Live Bait Cantina in Long Beach. Live Bait, if you remember, was the site of a very happening KNAC night a few years back. They are now letting metal back into their hallowed halls. Live Bait has a killer stage, a great staff, and is roomy enough for the biggest of parties. So come on out!   • Melz camera still MIA. Unfortunately, Mel's camera, which was lost at the Brave Bull in San Gabriel on 12/29, is still missing. The camera contained pictures of the show at the Brave Bull and another exposed roll of film with Mel's Christmas and family pictures -- these pictures are priceless! The camera was a Nikon 35MM camera in a gray camera case (with red and gray stripes on it); Mel's name and address were on a sticker at the bottom of the camera. It was on a table during Raven Mad's performance, but it may have fallen to the floor. If anyone has any information about the camera or the film, please let Mel know at mel@raven-mad.com

  • Raven Mad has been busily auditioning for a new lead guitarist, but in our spare time, we took a moment to play part of a large audience for a recent shooting for the upcoming movie Metal God, starring Marky Mark Walhberg and Jennifer Anniston. Look for us as little tiny specs in a huuuge arena when the movie comes to theatres near you! Mel even managed to get on stage to particpate in the Hot Metal Babe contest, wearing her Raven Mad tee shirt proudly, I might add, and dubbed "Rocker Girl" by CC Deville. Keep your eye out; maybe the footage will make the silver screen!
